Quirks

When Picnik announced that they were closing their site, I witnessed mass mourning from bloggettes around the globe. Being newer to blogging, I did not understand what could have been so great about Picnik photo editor. Great, in my mind, equaled hard and time consuming.
I finally decided to be more serious about the types of photos I was posting. So I explored the oh so great Picnik. It was peer pressure driven, no doubt. I just couldn’t look at anymore amazing blog pictures without thinking I needed to put in a little more elbow grease with my own snapshots. The site loaded. Bam! I instantly sympathized with every Picnik widow. Not only was the entire site extremely cute with the whole picnic theme, it was extremely user friendly. *Tear*
BUT with rain comes sunshine, and so I introduce PicMonkey! This photo editing site is developed by the same peeps that gave birth to Picnik. The first kid set the bar. The little brother has raised the bar and made it pretty darn hard for any future sibling to provide as much BAM. The site has a ton of options that were charged for on Picnik. PicMonkey doesn’t charge a premium for any of those options. The developers have also amped up their repertoire with many photo effects that will make my amateur photography skills look exceptionally National Geographic. While Picnik will be missed, I am very much a PicMonkey chick. Check out the photo in this post. Yup, that’s right. I PicMonkey-ed it up. Those are PB&J sandwiches shaped into a heart and small square, courtesy of my sis Pie. Thanks Pie for your amazing contribution. Just for the record, the sandwiches were delish.
